We’ve new dates in November and December for our popular (and very useful!) Secondary Glazing workshops; head over to our project page for details and sign-up form: Insulate Ealing – Secondary Glazing Practicals
A world-wide day of climate ‘mobilisation’ is being planned this weekend to coincide with the start of a landmark UN Climate Summit in New York city.
On Sunday September 21st, people around the world will be marching in support of Action on Climate Change, in an event called The People’s Climate March. London is no exception, and the march here is starting at Temple on the Thames embankment at 12:30pm.
We know that many of Ealing Transition’s supporters are already planning to go, but if you’re feeling a bit daunted, or would simply like to travel in with a group of like-minded people, why not join us at South Ealing Tube station at 11:30am on Sunday, and we’ll travel to Temple Station together?
See you (and many thousand others) there; bring your own placard!
Ealing Transition member Dora has started a fabulous blog “West London Transition Homes” where she aims to collect and collate information helpful to those wanting to radically upgrade the energy efficiency of their homes, and has started with some great posts about the Varszegi family’s PassivHaus retrofit of their own ex-local authority 1930s semi in South Ealing.
The Varszegi’s now use 90% less gas than before the refit, and haven’t used the central heating for 18 months, but their home is a constant and comfortable 22°C! It’s almost certainly the most energy efficient home in West London.
