Locally Grown Food

Eating meat and transporting food from overseas contributes a huge amount of CO2 to the atmosphere. Reducing the amount of meat in your diet, and eating seasonal, locally sourced food can make a big difference to our individual carbon footprint.

Local farmers’ markets provide a way of supporting local businesses while reducing your carbon footprint. At the supermarket, it can help to choose local food and to avoid products which have been flown from overseas.

If you have green fingers, you may want to get involved with our community garden and orchard projects.
